Convict Lake boating

Convict Lake has a paved boat ramp and rental boats at the marina, and is a designated no-wake lake; boats longer than 25 feet have difficulty navigating between the ramp and breakwater.

Convict Lake Resort launch facility

Convict Lake Resort operates a state-registered public launch facility on Convict Lake Road (listed minimum boat length 14 ft, maximum 18 ft) with boat rentals.

Fishing licence

A valid California sport fishing licence is required to fish California waters; annual and short-term licences are available and online purchasers must be at least 18.

Special trout water regulations

Many Inyo and Mono County trout waters carry special regulations — gear restrictions, bag limits or delayed openers — listed by CDFW under Title 14 CCR §7.50.

Regular trout season opener

Mono County's lakes, streams and reservoirs open for the regular trout season on the statewide opener, the last Saturday of April.

Crowley Lake

Crowley Lake is a man-made reservoir owned and operated by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, along US-395 about 12 miles south of Mammoth Lakes.

Convict Lake region

Inyo National Forest describes Convict Lake as a popular camping and fishing area ten miles south of Mammoth Lakes and two miles west of US-395.
